Boxer robbed of victory, judges give fan-favorite the win

Boxing fans on Twitter became irate on Saturday night when judges awarded Brandon “Bam Bam” Rios with a split decision victory over Richard Abril, even though Abril clearly dominated the fight.

We go to cards. Scores: 117-111 Abril, 115-112 Rios (WOW!), 115-113 for the winner by split Rios. OMG. THAT IS HORRIBLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

THAT IS ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING. RIOS DID NOT WIN THAT FIGHT. ABRIL SCHOOLED HIM. I WANT TO CUT MY WRISTS. #BOXING @trboxing

That is why boxing is a fringe sport. I AM ANGRY!!!!!!! HORRIBLE. ABRIL ROBBED! What did he have to do? KILL RIOS TO GET A DRAW? DISGUSTING.

Rios vs Abril decision is what is wrong with boxing. Abril should press charges against the two judges…he was robbed.

Brandon Rios by split decision? He obviously lost. The judges really robbed his opponent.

There is no way Rios won that fight. Abril was robbed. Adalaide Byrd was the only judge that got it right. Has Nevada turned into Texas?

Gee, I wonder where the boxing audience went? $55 to watch Abril school Rios and get robbed. #boxing

Luckily there wasn’t more controversy in the main event of the boxing card. Juan Manuel Marquez easily out-pointed Sergey Fedchenko

Juan Manuel Marquez def. Sergey Fedchenko via unanimous decision. Scores were 119-109, 118-110 and 118-110
