Mireille Miller-Young, a feminist studies associate professor at the University of California-Santa Barbara, is facing vandalism, battery and robbery charges after an encounter with pro-life activists on campus.

Video shows the assistant professor enlisting students to walk away with part of the pro-life display. Caught in the act, she can be heard saying to the pro-life activist, “I may be a thief, but you’re a terrorist.”

From LifeNews.com’s republication of a post by Tom Blumer of BizzyBlog and NewsBusters:

Miller-Young’s UCSB web page describes her areas of emphasis as “black cultural studies, pornography and sex work.” Her “areas of study” are “Pornography; Sex Work; Black Film, Popular Culture and Art; Feminist & Queer Theory; African American & African Diaspora Studies; Visual Archives; New Media; Ethnography; Oral History.”

As Blumer notes, “The school clearly either charges far too much in tuition, gets far too much money from the state, or both.”

According to the police report, Miller-Young found the pro-life material offensive because she teaches about women’s reproductive rights and is herself pregnant. Asked by police if there had been a struggle, she explained, “I’m stronger so I was able to take the poster.”

That’s not a bad idea.
