Race-baiter Michael Dyson attacks black “sexual rednecks” over gay marriage

Michael Dyson, a sociology professor at Georgetown known for accusing President Obama’s critics of racism at every turn, guest-hosted “The Ed Show” on MSNBC tonight.

The dozens of progressives who watched the show cheered him on for his diatribe against black preachers and religious leaders who support the traditional definition of marriage.

I'm about to guest anchor @edshow. Always a privilege. Going in HARD on black homophobia and the moral hypocrisy of the black church!

@MichaelEDyson Wow. . Am watching the @edshow. Way to go…Powerful intro speech!

Dyson ranted about “sexual rednecks,” while MSNBC host Ed Schultz and a few progressives cheered from the Twitter sidelines:

@MichaelEDyson asks anti-marriage equality black pastors, "Do we want to become sexual rednecks?" #edshow #video http://t.co/BXftU2WS

— Ed Schultz (@edshow) May 12, 2012

"Sexual Rednecks." #newfoundfavoritephrase

Damn. He is going IN. RT @alondra: Michael Eric Dyson (@MichaelEDyson) "Do we want to be sexual rednecks?" #boom

Dyson name-checked CNN commentator Roland Martin, who wasn’t happy:

@alpha1906 well, I don't care if @MichaelEDyson called me, @SophiaRedefined and @jamalhbryant out. Clearly the facts elude him.

— rolandsmartin (@rolandsmartin) May 12, 2012

I am going to hold my tongue with regards to @michaeledyson @medyson. I will give him the courtesy of cleaning up this mess HE created.

— rolandsmartin (@rolandsmartin) May 12, 2012

@weaversk @michaeledyson He tweeted moral hypocrisy. he really doesn't want to have that discussion with me. TRUST ME.

— rolandsmartin (@rolandsmartin) May 12, 2012

Another unhappy Dyson target, columnist Sophia Nelson, lashed back:

@rolandsmartin @alpha1906 @MichaelEDyson @jamalhbryant okay I am out on date night what in the hell is going on?

— Sophia A. Nelson (@IAmSophiaNelson) May 12, 2012

I tell you what I am not happy right now. If you are gonna call me out-get the damned facts correct! #MichaelEricDyson @msnbc #SSM

@Dimplezzz2002 @michaelEDyson @BarackObama @rolandsmartin We are all entitled to follow our conscience or faith as our guide. #IAmDone

— Sophia A. Nelson (@IAmSophiaNelson) May 12, 2012

@medyson @rolandsmartin I have made ZERO statements condemning @BarackObama statement on #SSM I personally do NOT support Gay Marriage! 1/2

— Sophia A. Nelson (@IAmSophiaNelson) May 12, 2012

2/2 As an American I have rights also. It is against my Christian Faith to support #SSM but that does not mean I don't support Gay Americans

Exit question from a black church-goer:
