Not interested in doling out a lot of “thank yous” to MSM types just now beginning #Gosnell coverage. Should’ve been covering to begin with.

We didn’t need a graph to tell that social media sites like Twitter were indispensable in shaming mainstream news outlets into acknowledging the very existence of the horrifying Kermit Gosnell trial. The outpouring of demand from the public was overwhelming, to the point where the story of the abortion house of horrors has won the lead slot on CNN’s “Anderson Cooper 360″ tonight. The guest? The director of an ongoing documentary series about Gosnell.

We will be leading our broadcast tonight with the #Gosnell case @ac360 8pm

CNN’s Jake Tapper and Erin Burnett also covered the trial today, with Tapper admitting it was an “undercovered” story.

Thank you, @jaketapper, for your @theleadcnn stories on #Gosnell. Please don’t let it be a one-off.

The Washington Post, whose health policy reporter had dismissed the trial as a “local crime” story, also was forced to admit that it shouldn’t have taken this push from the public to dedicate a reporter to the story. As Twitchy reported earlier, there are plenty of empty seats available at the courthouse.
